Some children change after illness — and never quite come back.
Some symptoms repeat across generations.
Some patterns don’t respond, no matter what you try.
This is where miasms live.
Not in theory — but in families. In timelines. In bodies that couldn’t finish what they started.
If the word miasm is unfamiliar, I wrote more about what it means in this post on the Cancer miasm — and how these energetic patterns often pass through generations: Read it here.
Miasms aren’t theoretical. They’re energetic patterns — states the body can get stuck in when resolution was interrupted. Sometimes they arise after illness or trauma. Sometimes they’re inherited — passed down not through genes but through the body’s memory.
And there’s a new one I keep seeing.
It’s not in the old books. You won’t find it listed alongside Psora or Sycosis. But it’s showing up everywhere — especially in children — and it looks like the legacy of something we thought we’d dealt with.
It is the Strep miasm.
It doesn’t begin with strep throat. It begins with how we respond to it. Think antibiotics. Repeated suppression. Incomplete resolution. A system interrupted before it could adapt and reorganise.
What follows isn’t always physical. It might look like emotional dysregulation, tics, OCD behaviours, intense rage, or inflammatory fallout. In some children, it becomes a cycle: they begin to recover, then shift. And you can’t quite explain why.
This miasm carries themes of control, suppression and rebellion. There’s often a pushback — whether physical or psychological — against anything that feels like constraint. Children become volatile, hyperreactive, emotionally extreme. There may be a sense of being energetically ‘possessed’ by something that isn’t theirs. Often, there’s no clear trigger.
In adults, the picture is often more physical. We may see a long history of tonsillitis suppressed with antibiotics or tonsillectomy, chronic sinus congestion or post-nasal drip that never fully clears, thick mucus at the back of the throat, tight chests, mouth breathing, jaw tension, or chronic fatigue that returns each time the system is under strain. There may be joint or muscle pain with rheumatic qualities, a tendency to get stuck in recovery, or recurring low-level symptoms that never fully resolve.
Emotional patterns can still be present — perfectionism, internalised shame, fear of doing something wrong or being blamed — but in adults, it often sits quietly under the surface.
Children, by contrast, often present with a more intense emotional or neurological picture: rages, tics, obsessive thoughts, sensory overload, separation anxiety, or personality shifts after disruption. It can feel sudden. Possessive. Deeply dysregulating.
So why the difference?
Because with each generation, the miasm deepens. The more it’s suppressed — physically, emotionally, or medically — the more potent it becomes.
According to Hering’s Law of Cure, true healing moves from within to without — from the deepest, most vital organs to the least important ones. From mental and emotional symptoms to physical ones. From top to bottom. From recent to old.
But when suppression happens, that direction reverses.
What should have moved outward instead moves inward.
And over time, the symptoms of the Strep miasm don’t just sit in the tonsils or joints — they settle into the nervous system, the emotions, the energetic body.
The strep ‘infection’ may have cleared.
But the energetic imprint wasn’t finished with.
Homeopathy doesn’t treat bacteria. It treats the state.
And that’s what the miasm really is — the state the body gets stuck in when its adaptation is blocked.
In the case of the Strep miasm, it’s often the legacy of being repeatedly shut down. The system doesn’t complete its process. The symptoms shift inward. The signal remains unresolved.
We’ve spent decades shutting symptoms down and now we’re raising a generation whose systems are saying: enough.
This isn’t about strep.
It’s about what the body wasn’t allowed to finish.
And the patterns that got passed on instead.
If you want to work at that level — to understand the blueprint behind chronic behaviour, emotional overwhelm and inherited susceptibility — the Miasms course will show you how.
This is where homeopathy comes into its own.
And I’d love to show you what’s possible.
Wow yes!
